1909* Bennett Pocket Model Serial # 15172 1909* Bennett Pocket Model typewriter, Serial # 15172 Ted Munk's 1909* Bennett Pocket Model typewriter. 2013-02-16 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Ted Munk: 1909* Bennett Pocket Model Serial # 15172 From the collection of Bill Wahl, a 1909-ish Bennet. The patents painted on the inside floorplate run from 1902 to 1908, and there's a stamped seal that indicates US Patent in 1901. The serial number on a Bennett is a vanishingly tiny number stamped on the right side of the frame just below the right platen knob.

The Bennett is actually a pretty well-built machine despite its lightweight construction. The simplicity of its mechanical operation is interesting to behold.

I am a scoundrel without a cause, and my swank outshines the sun.

I am a casual Typewriter Hunter residing in the sweltering deserts of Arizona with a wife, three cats and about 50 typewriters. My main hunting ground is thrift stores, and I rarely pay more than $10 for a machine. My collection consists mainly of portables with cases, and they stay in the cases unless I am actively using it (usually more than one at a time). I do, however keep a handful of interesting Selectrics, including a Composer and a couple of large Nakajima Electronics to use as daisywheel printers for my vintage laptop collection.
