Description:
This 1908 Monarch 1 (with the American Writing Machine Rebuild sticker) was bought in Charles City, Iowa, in the fall of 2019; and then my folks drove it halfway across the country to us in the Philadelphia suburbs. The previous owners suggested that it may have come from Chicago.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Monarch 1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Monarch Serial Number page and the Monarch 1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
