I have always wanted an Oliver, and so when I saw one on Goodwill finds at a reasonable price, I ordered it. It was in working order when they shipped it, but they packed it improperly, and it took a hard hit to the carriage bar at left, that cracked the cast casing in two places, and bent the left tower typebars. So I cleaned it and repaired what I could, and I'm just working myself up to a full teardown so my father can braise the casting. Sigh. So no typeface specimen. Yet.

I have been collecting typewriters all my life, starting with a 1980's Brother Charger 11 (which I no longer have, but have replaced with an identical machine). I have well over 60 typewriters now, with a few rare portables. Some are interesting or odd, but most of mine are common machines.
My wife and I have made a deal, that I can keep buying typewriters if she can keep buying shoes. Fair enough! *shrugs*
