Description:
Rough condition aesthetically, Surface rust on frame and damaged key faces. Most functions work before cleaning. Will need to break down and clean thoroughly to get everything in order. I don't see a backspace key and there is no lever for bichrome ribbon shift lever. https://dn711200.ca.archive.org/0/items/underwood-standard-typewriter-instructions/001%20Underwood%20Standard%20Typewriter%20Instructions.pdf

Started by winning a Royal KMG at auction, $14.00. Was just looking to clean it up and get it fully functional myself, may have it fully restored professionally in the future. Caught some sort of bug, because now I have a 1901 Underwood and this evening I expect to take possession of a 1912-1922 Corona 3... Someone please help me!!!!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
