I bought this Hammond from a collector friend. I also bought a Hammond Multiplex Folding No.26 with sheet metal housing from the same collector in 2021. But I always wanted to own an old Hammond without a sheet metal case, so that you can see the fascinating mechanics.

When the key is pressed, the type slip turns either to the right or to the left and then a hammer hits the paper from behind against the type on the type slip.
