Considering they only made 7,000 in the previous year (1896 Remington started manufacture of the No.7) I'm figuring this to be made in Jan/Feb of 1897. Update 8/8/2023 -sold this typewriter to a local typewriter collector.

Early, low serial numbered No.7 (serial 8038) that after about 40 hours of work is up and functional! Considering they only made 7,000 in the previous year (1896 Remington started manufacture of the No.7) I'm figuring this to be made in Jan/Feb of 1897.
