Description:
I got this Underwood 1--formerly of the Clark Family Collection, in May of 2023. Obviously the front of the frame is broken. I have the pieces and plan to get it reassembled as it should be. But even so, after a thorough cleaning and servicing, with new feed rollers, it works well enough to be an everyday typer, which is crazy for 125 years old. Date representative of the original Clark Family listing: https://etconline.org/backissues/ETC023.pdf
UPDATE: Began repair work on the front frame in January/February 2024.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
