Description:
The pride of Des Moines, Iowa!
Having been born and raised in Iowa, the idea of an Iowa-made typewriter always enticed me. To this point, I have amassed 6 Jewetts: models 1-6… but none of them were anywhere near functional shape until now. This No. 2 was the best of the lot. It was in very good/excellent shape, having been part of the Clark Family Collection and on museum display for many years.
But even so, it took a good 12-15 hours of work to get even a gorgeous machine like this one back into functional shape. Purchased in December, 2023; conservative restoration in April 2024.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Jewett 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Jewett Serial Number page and the Jewett 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
