1963 Optima 15 Serial # 3019781 1963 Optima 15 typewriter, Serial # 3019781 Pekka Sallinen's 1963 Optima 15 typewriter. 2024-04-18 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Pekka Sallinen: 1963 Optima 15 Serial # 3019781 I think this Optima Mod 15 is actually re-branded Erika 15. Confirmed by http://xoverit.blogspot.com/2014/04/post-war-erikas-part-1-1949-1965.html: "A rebranded Optima version was sold in Finland, and an Ursula for West Germany."

"Made in Germany" (German Democratic Republic) "Büromaschinen - Export GMBH - Berlin". No tabulator or adjustments, typical three-position ribbon selector.
Compact model with carrying case made of fake leather. The work quality of the carrying case seems top notch, this is clearly made in Germany. The cover of the typewriter itself is all plastic, but at least the material seems fairly thick and sturdy.

According to the seller (I paid 10 euro for it) this unit has seen very little use, and most of that while she went to trade school in the 70's. They keys are Finnish/Swedish and arranged in pre-1976 fashion. Large font, maybe pica?
