Apparently, some 80,000 of these were manufactured in the 1920s, and sold throughout the world. Several listings can be found at Most advertisements I've found were placed in South America, though this machine was sold world-wide. "MW" equals Montgomery Wards? Not sure.

Gundka typewriters were sold as G&K, the Frolio, Scripta, Perlita, Write-Easy, M-W and Gefro. That one of these names is in English suggests an American or British market for the Gundka too.

My MW is in nice condition, but creating a typeface specimen was challenging.
