0 Points, Typewriter Hunter

Hello everyone! My name is Johnny, US Army veteran, and I'm just getting started in the world of vintage typewriter restoration. I've recently caught the bug after watching California Typewriter and have been building my knowledge fast.
My focus is pre-1950 American-made portables — Royal, Remington/Remington Rand, Underwood, and Smith-Corona. I'm learning the restoration work myself with The Manual Typewriter Repair Bible by Theodore Munk (just ordered it), and I've already got several machines coming in — a 1923 Remington Portable, an Underwood Champion, an Underwood Universal Touch Tuning, and a few others.
I'm also a collector personally. I own a 1934–35 Smith-Corona Silent in rare beige crinkle finish (serial 1S 19169) and my wife has a 1945 Remington Rand DeLuxe Model 5. Long-term I'm hunting WWII Military Mills — specifically a US Army Mill and a US Navy Mill.
I'm here to learn, contribute, and connect with experienced restorers. Any guidance on the machines I mentioned, tool sourcing, or anything else is genuinely appreciated. Looking forward to being part of this community."
