0 Points, Typewriter Hunter

I'm a collector of many things and have many hobbies ranging from Calligraphy, Greyhound Rescue, Beekeeper, Fountain Pens, Gardener, and Cook. The artistic side came from my Grandmother and I always believe she was my first teacher and molded and nurtured me into what I have become. She also taught me collecting now that I look back as she would save postage stamps and we collected rocks that she would then assemble and paint making Caricatures of clowns and animals mostly. I'm sure if you're still reading you are wondering how the heck typewriters fit in, well, it started in 2018 when I got the itch that I wanted a typewriter. I had been doing calligraphy for years and I've always loved mechanical things but I didn't know a thing about them. I almost bought an underwood from an antique shop but it was so rough and would need work. I ended up passing, thankfully, and still kept my eye out. Then through my calligraphy guild we did a letter writing event which in turn led us to another event that was called a type-in where the folks heading the letter writing where invited and then we got invited. It was January 2019 that I went to my first type-in and came home with a 1938 Royal model O. I haven't looked back and there's this "little" group called ATI (Austin Typewrite Ink) that's just a stones throw away from me and on FB of course that have help feed my need for typewriters. This group of folks is by far leaps and bounds the best group of people I've run across. I'm thankful to have found them and because of them (John "The Shy") I captured a unicorn which is a Fraktur Urania and will be my first typewriter to log into the TWDB!
