In Spring 2020, during the COVID-19 shutdown, what with the world ending and all, I decided to fulfill my longtime dream of collecting typewriters. Since I couldn't go to thrift stores or yard sales, I went online. Consequently I may have paid more for mine than I should have, but I am deeply satisfied with my collection so far. Within a month I added seven manual typewriters to the two I already had, and I have since moved into double digits and become an Olympia superfan. I'm a sucker for unusual type styles and mystery keys. Though I work in an office, I am by training and inclination a writer, so I prefer typewriters that work and are not particularly fragile. However, the more I see, the more I want. I live in Northern California and look forward to sharing my collection with you.
