19XX Smith Corona Super Sterling Serial # 3LRJ320843 19XX Smith Corona Super Sterling typewriter, Serial # 3LRJ320843 Erwin vanD's 19XX Smith Corona Super Sterling typewriter. 2025-05-29 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Erwin vanD: 19XX Smith Corona Super Sterling Serial # 3LRJ320843 It is a Singapore SCM Super Sterling, but i don't know if this one belongs in the gallery of manual Super Sterlings.
Dating this machine is difficult, I don't really know, hence the 19XX.
I have also been looking at ID labels on the bottom of these machines, this one is caled a '3L' model but my similar Electra Automatic is called a '3LRG' model.
I will update that gallery too, a link below.

A nice bright blue typewriter, from the electric/mechanical periode.

These typewriters have exchangeable slugs and keycaps, but I haven't been able to find these online.
Only those for previous models and made out of copper.
If somebody has more info...

Fun Fact, Tarifs are a hot item now , but that's not new.
When looking for information about this typewriter I've stumbled upon a investigation from the U.S. International Trade Commission.
The title is "Portable electric typewriters from Singapore" . A link below.

Hello,
Typerwriterfan from the Netherlands, recently bought a few typewriters again and started cleaning and adjusting them.
I haven't touched a typewriter in a long time, but it's fun working with them again.
This is a great database and I will try to contribute too.

Have a nice day,

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Super Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Super Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
