Description:
Given to me in the Spring of 2020. Elite.
This typewriter is a bit of an oddity. The database has no records of the 6MLF series Galaxies. The 6MLC (Galaxie 12) production evidently ended in 1980, yet the only references (see gallery) I can find on this model typewriter date from 1982/83. The "Correction/Typewriter" model seems like a marketing gimmick; beyond a special ribbon and some badging, this is a typical Galaxie 12.
This typewriter originally belonged to an aunt of some family friends. After she passed away, the family gifted the machine to me. It has the build quality typical of a late-model Galaxie. As I recall, it suffered from an intermittent skipping problem. This machine left my collection in 2022.

Been enjoying the hobby since 2015; finally getting around to sharing my collection digitally. I only keep the typewriters I use and enjoy the most, so check out my sightings to see all the machines that came and went.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Galaxie CT on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Galaxie CT By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
