Description:
I've found this one in operational condition (take a look at the typeface specimen example).
Its badges are all there (argentinian sole importer too), covered by a thick of black paint.
Yes, this Kappel was repainted in an unknown era (I guess no less than three or four decades ago), and the badges dissapear under the paint (the phantom image of them still survives, as you can see in the pictures).
Looks like a very sturdy, cast iron full size typewriter.
I think the serial number should be under the black paint too. But I am absolutely clueless about the location of the serial number in this make of typewriters, hence I am not that brave as to scrap the paint here and there looking for the elusive serial number.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Under the typewriter a "NÂș2" is engraved. Possibly it is a number 2, but ressembles too much to a number 1 (the bell location in Kappels NÂș 2 is different as is in this example).
Who knows, the serial number will enlighten me.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Kappel 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Kappel Serial Number page and the Kappel 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
