Description:
Toshiba released a Japanese-language word processor called the JW-10 in 1979, followed by the RUPO series in 1985. This RUPO model is from 1996 (one of the final versions I believe) and can print thee (3) lines simultaneously at speeds of 233 characters per second. As you can see it "type" in both Japanese and English. I believe this would be one the first machines that would also allow you access to receive email and some sort of web access. It is fully functional and it excellent condition, but I have not found a ribbon for it just yet...I also do not have a carrying case which it would have had. A huge leap from a 1981 Toshiba BW-3182 Typewriter.

I am an avid typewriter enthusiast with currently over one hundred (100) typewriters in my collection (and growing). I am a proud TWDB Patron. I have also collected vintage briefcases (mostly Hartmann) Movie Cameras (8mm & 16mm) and many Fountain Pens. I am the author of the novella 'Killer on the Canvas'. I am also a big Don Quixote fan. I make my home in Southern California.
My Typewriter manufacture dates currently range from 1883 to 1996.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Toshiba RUPO JW-V810 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Toshiba Serial Number page and the Toshiba RUPO JW-V810 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
