1995 Canon StarWriter Jet 300 Serial # Unknown 1995 Canon StarWriter Jet 300 typewriter, Serial # Unknown King Corduroy's 1995 Canon StarWriter Jet 300 typewriter. 2015-01-15 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of King Corduroy: 1995 Canon StarWriter Jet 300 Serial # Unknown This is my Canon StarWriter Jet 300 from 1995. I found it at a local recycling centre and grabbed it because I thought it was an old early 90's laptop but to my disappointment it ended up being a word processor. :P

I ended up returning this to the recycling centre on January 14 2015. RIP cannon starwriter, you worked well but in the end you were much too dated to use in a modern environment. :(

As many of you probably know these word processors more often than not did not obtain MS licensing and as such used their own proprietary format for saving to disk, however this machine could export to DOS TXT file but that would ruin all your careful formatting.

I never got to test the printer because while it did seem to work the ink cartridge was all dried up.

I am a mechanical engineering student with a fascination for antiques, I bought my first typewriter when I was in 6th or 7th grade. It was a very beat-up and dejected Remington Noiseless Model 7 and it only cost me 5$ since I was the only one at the auction interested in it. Since then I have sold it (and happen to know it is sitting in an antique shop) but my love for typewriters has never waned.
Since then my interests have spread to vintage computers and other electronics and I have obtained many interesting things. I now own 3 typewriters, but I am always looking for more and those sleek portables of the 1940's and 50's always catch my eye.
