It consumes 8 watts of power when idle. No battery back-up (the only thing I dislike about this machine, other than the missing paper support tray) so everytime you shut down and turn on the machine any custom settings (like character pitch, margins etc) will be reset to default, requiring you to spend several seconds to change them back.

I kept the wide advertising sticker on the front panel (normally I remove such stickers on anything I buy) because it added a touch of colour to the drab beige plastic case.

Only 2 screws (the exposed ones you see when you lift up the cartridge cover) to remove. The rest is held on by plastic clips along the edges. Easy to open up the case.
