Description:
Went to buy an electric typewriter and ended up getting this electronic typewriter instead. Only one of the film ribbon cartridges worked. I've gotten the Start-Rite kit since then have 3 additional printwheels, 4 film ribbon cartridges and a correcting cassette (which isn't perfect, but does an ok job if you're writing over the erased letter).
The machine uses an American plug point and required an adapter for me to use. It was difficult getting a user manual for this model, but if you find something similar in the SL and SD series, it's pretty easy to figure out the different features. I personally love the little medal-ribbon on the machine stating it's Made in USA.
Note: Serial number is located on the label which is inside the ribbon cover.

I'm a young(er) typewriter nut who doggedly pursued and waited for the day I'd buy a Smith-Corona to write with. The hobby is gradually becoming an obsession with newer members coming in :)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona SL 600 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona SL 600 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
