Description:
Got this for $30 online. I’m a fan of SC Electric Portables and like that this one has a correction feature although the erase tape on the dual ribbon creates a white-out snowstorm all over the platen and segment basket so it needs to be air dusted after using it. That being said, it’s great for typing with nice response on the keys that allows for speedy typing. The plastic case is decent.

I grew up with a fascination and deep appreciation for mechanical business machines. Mid-century typewriters, cash registers and adding machines. To appreciate the magic of these devices and the synergy of gears, springs and levers working together in perfect harmony is quite beautiful and an understated marvel of engineering and quality workmanship that has produced products that work exactly as intended for decades and even a century after they were produced. This is something that doesn’t exist in today’s world. My small collection (currently 19) consists of mainly portables, ultra-portables and a few Smith Corona 6 series electrics, which I use for amateur writing projects.
