I was gifted a 1947 Smith-Corona Silent portable over 15 years ago, and it needed minor repairs to be complete and operational. It's survived an apartment fire and dust due to its case. Recently I found a Remington Portable Model 1, which turned out to be incomplete, but prompted me to want to display my machines. This renewed my interest in typewriters and caused a small expansion in my collection.
I most recently installed original ribbon spools and replaced the ribbon on the SC Silent, and have been doing some minor restoration work on the Silver-Reed machines.
