The serial number starts with zero. I'm sure Sears had every ambition to start with an optimal decimal point place, but I think this was just about the last successful model before they were blindsided with computers and word processors. I actually really like this particular machine, it does its job great and I really like the design. I like the color and basic, angular, and I think handsome shape.
