198X Royal Beta 8000T Serial # 84340211 198X Royal Beta 8000T typewriter, Serial # 84340211 Brian Hammack's 198X Royal Beta 8000T typewriter. 2020-04-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Brian Hammack: 198X Royal Beta 8000T Serial # 84340211 Package says Royal, manual says TA/Royal, online lists say Adler/Royal.
Electric daisywheel typewriter, ribbon/correction tape compatable with Alpha 600, Alpha 600P, and Beta 8000. Printwheels compatable with several Nakajima AE series, some Adler models, and select machines by Canon, Facit, Olivetti, Samsung, Elite, and Hermes; Swintek makes comptable wheels.
I got mine at a thriftstore in its box with the parallel card/cable, manuals, two extra wheels, a correction tape spool, and spare ribbons; the owner's name sticker was on it and apparently this was previously used by someone who bought it on post at a military base in Germany. And yes, through Windows Notepad and the parallel interface, I do use this typewriter as a lineprinter. I found the 80,000 dictionary card on eBay so I own both of the accessories.

Samples of the three daisywheels I own. Since along with TA and Adler, Nakajima and Swintek make compatable wheels, there are a few dozen fonts available.

Got my first typewriter at age 4, a Tom Thumb. Got my first real typewriter at age 15, a Smith-Corona DeVille. Have been collecting typewriters since 2010 when I found a 1945 Smith-Corona Silent at an estate sale. Current count is around 12, half of them are in storage .
