This was a lucky find in Cádiz, España. I can tell from the original manual that it is a Studio 46. However, the serial number appears to be out of sequence, because the number is low, whereas the features are indicative of a later version. Another odd thing is that the badge at the back simply says "made by Olivetti" but does not specify which one. Barcelona?
I almost passed on this machine since it's missing its front badge. But I am so thankful to have become its new owner. It types so smoothly and has not even been serviced or cleaned yet.
This is the same model typewriter that one of my favorite authors, Octavia Butler, used to write her first ten books.
