1988 Smith Corona PWP 80 Serial # 5CED 1127000 1988 Smith Corona PWP 80 typewriter, Serial # 5CED 1127000 Mark Petersen's 1988 Smith Corona PWP 80 typewriter. 2014-04-04 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mark Petersen: 1988 Smith Corona PWP 80 Serial # 5CED 1127000 I got this machine for $10 at Goodwill in Christiansburg, Virginia. I have never seen anything like it before! I think it is delightfully dorky, and I love that the screen is backlit unlike some other Smith Coronas I have seen. It is much more comfortable to type on too since the screen sits eye level. Very clever that the screen swings down to protect the keyboard. This machine uses the small and specific Smith Corona Datadisks, which I own but I have not gotten one to work yet, either I don't know how or my disk drive is fried.

Also, neat to finally have a typewriter made in the same year I was.
