Description:
I found this at a Goodwill for $15, and although I don't typically go for electronic typewriters, I couldn't pass on it. It features a demo mode that asks you your name, and then gives you a personalized walkthrough showing you how to use the erase feature. It requires a cartridge ribbon and a lift ribbon for removing the letters from the paper. It also has a built-in spell checker that beeps at you if you mistype a word, indicating that you should delete the word and try again. It uses an easily replaceable daisy wheel, so I didn't bother providing a typeface example. It can be easily changed anyways.
The neighborhood girl who babysits my kids showed interest in this typewriter, and so I gave it to her. She's informed me that she has already written several stories with it.

I'm new to collecting, but have acquired enough machines that I thought I should probably register them here.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brother AX-20 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brother Serial Number page and the Brother AX-20 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
