Description:
This example is part of the typewriter´s swansong. They were still identifiable as writing machines, but the electronic inside them is a statement about the newborn computing era, menacing to turn them obsolete.
As part of this change, the IBM 6715 is fit to be used as a computer printer.
Beautiful machine indeed, but short lived. This example is operative and very crisp in the use.
It has a funny handle, despite it is not obviously a portable, but if you are strong and brave enough, you can carry the typewriter by its handle.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the IBM 6715 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the IBM Serial Number page and the IBM 6715 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
