1984 IBM Electronic Typewriter 95 Serial # 6714-11-7140492 1984 IBM Electronic Typewriter 95 typewriter, Serial # 6714-11-7140492 Donald Resor's 1984 IBM Electronic Typewriter 95 typewriter. 2022-01-21 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Donald Resor: 1984 IBM Electronic Typewriter 95 Serial # 6714-11-7140492 IBM Electronic 95 I purchased last month. Not wanting it shipped, I drove out to the seller's home and picked it up.
While it powers on, and the computer/electronics seem to be functioning, the mechanism is quite a bit gummed up. The keyboard is operational, though some of the melt-over points to hold the "sandwich" together have popped off.
It is a work in progress.

I do have the frame which is placed over the control center, however one of the rails inside the case's screws were loose, causing the mechanism to not sit in the correct position. I have to adjust the frame rails again to make get it centered in the case.

This is the first time I have seen an IBM Electronic Typwiter 95 in brown. I've only ever seen them in the light Charcoal/Ash color.

Update:

After some research I found that IBM #10 oil is SAE 30 Non-Detergent oil. This is used in among other items, the bearings of the main drive motor.
IBM #23 Lubricant (Synthetic Grease) substitute is Mobilgrease #28.
