Description:
Found at a church rummage sale with its original serial-number matched packaging box, it really was almost unused---which makes it really puzzling as to why the @-over-¢ slug is so badly soldered on and doesnât even make contact with the paper. My fix should involve replacing the typebar rather than trying to fix the soldering, but, jeez, just try to find a junk Brother JP-1.... There ainât any.
The box is interesting, too. We learn that this Brother color is called âDull Skyâ. And the instructions on the box include: âDo Not Dropâ [OK] and âStow Away From Boilerâ [OK, OK].

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brother Charger 11 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brother Serial Number page and the Brother Charger 11 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
