Description:
The JP-1 just gets the job done. This one was so dirty. There was a 3/8 inch pile of correction dust along the front rail. There was something spilled into it that solidified in the back end. There were all sorts of food droppings into the keys that made a dam on the lower frame cross member. Despite it all, it still typed.
The back and side panels are plastic. There is no paper support. Otherwise, it appears to be a the same Brother build going back to 1961. Next up I need a 1987 Charger. Is that the last Brother?

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears with correction on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears with correction By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
