1983 Sears Correction Serial # K33112866 1983 Sears Correction typewriter, Serial # K33112866 Brian Hammack's 1983 Sears Correction typewriter. 2020-03-14 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Brian Hammack: 1983 Sears Correction Serial # K33112866 Junkshop find, $10. Sears model 268.51200 "with correction". The purple paint job shown in the gallery images is my doing; having no snappy name I call this "Irresistable B*tch" after the Prince song and have a black/purple ribbon from FJA Products installed to complete the image. It's a known quirk of this model that the 'a' is dropped on the hammer; the uppercase is fine. Oddly, typing apostrophe-backspace-period to make an exclamation mark doesn't line up correctly but period-backspace-apostrophe does...

FOR COMPARISON: I once owned a 1960s Brother 'Charger 11' and the Sears 'Correction' is just a rebadge of this model with cosmetic changes.

Got my first typewriter at age 4, a Tom Thumb. Got my first real typewriter at age 15, a Smith-Corona DeVille. Have been collecting typewriters since 2010 when I found a 1945 Smith-Corona Silent at an estate sale. Current count is around 12, half of them are in storage .
