Got this machine for $10 at a thrift shop. I love playing with these and showing it off but I don't type on it often. I used to work at an office supply store and found the other type-balls I own in the back and got them cheaply.

Update: I type on the Selectric more now, I have grown to love it. I also got a bunch of free balls after appearing on the news so there are some new ones posted now.

Update: I recently bought a less good Selectric II for $10 at Goodwill and I plan to resell it, but not before snagging the cool flip up dust cover from it and installing it on this one! I have posted some pictures of the dust cover.

Motor seems to have been made in May of 1981...

Body made in 1980? This is a part number not a serial number apparently, caused me some confusion.

Another part number which caused me confusion. The serial number is elusive if you don't know where to look.

And the elusive serial number is at last found right where Ted said it would be, facing the typist in the middle of the machine behind the ball carrier.

The symbol balls, 12 and 10 pitch top to bottom.
