Description:
Made in Japan for Royal Business Machines, Inc., a division of Triumph-Adler North America. My first electric typewriter since I began collecting. I wish I could say it's a great one, but despite a pleasantly snappy dawn-of-the-computer-age feel to the keys, the return mechanism frequently causes it to seize up, requiring the user to give it a good slap. This typewriter may have been manufactured anywhere between 1979 and 1982. Note that the apostrophe/quotation marks key is on the home row, just where it's found on modern computer keyboards.

Resident of Portland, Oregon since 2015. Mostly interested in semi-portables of the '30s, '40s, and '50s (the late glass key top through late pre-electric eras), with a special interest in unusual or distinctive typefaces other than techno and script. Always learning!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Cavalier on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Serial Number page and the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Cavalier By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
