Description:
This is a portable Underwood manufactured after Underwood had already merged with Olivetti. Although the plate on the top cover brands it as an "Underwood 315", another plate on the back of the typewriter clearly states "made in Olivetti plant Barcelona (Spain)". A similar statement is printed on the inside of the sleek black case with which this portable came. It has a British-type keyboard.
I bought it in a random charity shop somewhere in the West Midlands (UK) and it cost me exactly £20. It was fully functional (ribbon included) and in great shape. It had clearly been oiled and dusted recently, so whoever donated it had been taking good care of it.
It types beautifully and is fairly easy to handle, so it's very convenient for someone like me, who likes to move about all the time and work from different places.
