Description:
This is a Mexican-built, Canadian-keyboard equipped Underwood 315 (Olivetti Lettera 31) bought in an Ohio Goodwill. It has a great zip-case and the Conrail-blue ribbon cover is super cool. When I got it home, the back said 'Undewood'. The aluminum plate swiftly fell off on its own accord and revealed 'Olivetti' moulded into the plastic!
Unlike any other machine in my collection thus far, this one has an 11 character-per-inch typeface.
I have had a hard time identifying this machine, but I think that I have finally found the correct info. Take a look at Uwe's typewriter: http://typewriterdatabase.com/197x-underwood-315.2623.typewriter
Traded to Charlie Habel at The 9th Annual Antique Typewriter Collector's Meeting, 2016.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 315 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 315 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
