Description:
This was given to me by my uncle who, I think, had used it in the office of his haulage business. It takes the Coronamatic cartridge and is fitted with a black nylon ribbon. There's a noticable hum from the idling motor and the type action is noisily percussive! The date is an estimate based on Tom Hitt's similar model which was bought (I assume from new) in 1981 and from which he inferred it was a 1980 machine. His s/n is 6LEF518359G)

I'm an opportunistic collector and user. Yep, I have a habit, but I'm in control, OK?
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Coronet Electric on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Coronet Electric By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
