Description:
This typewriter is one I refurbished for a friend.
A previous owner had dropped the machine and damaged the keyboard cover, the metal case on the L side, and the D and S keys.
The intervening years of neglectful disuse were equally unkind, but 80% of the restoration work was in the cleaning of it. What mechanical issues there were, were simple enough. The keyboard cover retains its cracks but is reinforced from beneath.
The disassembly and inner workings were strikingly similar to the SCM Classic 12 and were therefore relatively easy to navigate.
The case is not original to the machine but was a spare, from another machine that I failed to revive some years ago.
The machine takes universal-sized 2" x 1/2" ribbon spools.
