Description:
I found this ugly little thing the day before the Fourth of July, and named her Julia because of it. Creative, I know. She was never a very good machine, and had quite a number of issues. A masked platen knob, a rock solid platen, an emergent escapement issue, stuck tab sets, and not to mention the noise, tremendous and booming!
I know Messa rebadges aren't all bad, as my 1989s Royal Safari is a wonderful but this one only taught me to be careful of what I buy, even if it's only ten bucks. I'm currently selling this machine on eBay to get her out of my way. Let's hope she goes quietly into that dark night.

I'm a relatively new collector hunting for anything inexpensive that I can get my hands on, functionality being a second thought. I have to learn somehow, right!?
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears Malibu on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears Malibu By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
