I purchased this Lettera 35 in July 2018 largely because it was only $15 and seemed in reasonable shape.
As of the end of July '18, I have not used this too much. But the little I have typed, the action is snappy but I need to hone the right touch to get the most out of this quality. The keys are a little close to another compared to other typewriters I have used, giving it a somewhat cramped feeling. I have experienced the carriage return not working properly or some issue that caused there not to be a full space between lines of text.
I gave this a cursory cleaning and scrubbed gently with mineral spirits. I wasn't able to completely scrub the slugs, so sometimes the center of the lower case e is filled in with ink. I think that has also resulted in a bit of smudging in the typeface example. I also still need to do a more thorough cleaning, as there is some debris in the basket.
I hope to use this more soon, for letter writing, etc.
