Description:
The space age Lettera 12 (a later variant of Lettera 10) is smaller than it appears in pics. A featherweight, its body is made of cast-injected ABS polymer casing. It could well be the lightest of the Olivettis, which is really a disadvantage as it does not have the solid mechanism and stable typing action of a Lettera 22 or 32. In addition, it does not use a standard ribbon spool but a proprietary cartridge-type ribbon; replacement will be a problem. The Barcelona-made Lettera 12 is the coolest looking piece of 70s junk ever to despoil planet Typospheria.
Gone but not forgotten.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 12 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 12 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
