Description:
1157. This is #2 of 3 of my IBM Selectric II typewriters. I am hoping to get at least 2 of them working, so I can sell at least one of them. I have learned (from Phoenix Typewriter on YouTube) that the IBMs just do not like sitting idle and all of the oil gums up over time and makes them unusable until the oil is excised from the machine.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the IBM Selectric II on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the IBM Serial Number page and the IBM Selectric II By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
