Description:
Sears Best Corrector model 268.53510
Made by Brother for Sears. Derived from JP-10 electric with special cassette ribbon with black on top and correction white on bottom.
Similar to Brother Cassette Electric L10
Elite 12 typeface. Modern US keyboard layout.
Platen width 13 inches, with good rubber.
Plastic molded carry case of very good quality.
This is a very heavy machine, compared with similar era Smith-Corona.
Typing with very good key response and feels like a high quality machine.
All functions working, tabs, repeat keys, etc.
Just the odd ribbon cassette detracts from being a desirable model.
BTW, has a paper injector that seems to be not working on this machine, will investigate later.

Retired to the quiet of rural Nebraska to contemplate nature.
Typing down thoughts, prefer that to handwriting.
Not really a collector, just like to tinker on mechanical things.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears Corrector on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears Corrector By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
