1978 Facit 1845 Serial # 839 8407 1978 Facit 1845 typewriter, Serial # 839 8407 Kewin Sanfridsson's 1978 Facit 1845 typewriter. 2024-04-09 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kewin Sanfridsson: 1978 Facit 1845 Serial # 839 8407 Here we got a Facit 1845 from 1978. Ahh, I love these clunky 70s electric typewriters! But they do take up some space which is a bit of a deal breaker. I do believe the 1845 is almost identical to the Facit 1870 inside (not confirmed). I don't know but it is something special about these cumbersome and loud machines from the 70s especially made by Facit that really appeals to me.

This one I got on a Swedish auction site. It sure has some problems and also a few problems which I caused... I accidentally broke of a screw by using to much force when it was stuck and when I tried to remove the space bar I didn't realize it was held down by two screw which resulted in it breaking in two places which I glued and it looks somewhat passable. The problems it had already was The A, C and 3 key won't always result in a keystroke and also it's not properly set up as the letters are almost all over the place. I will take a closer look at both of problems when I get the time for it. So will come back and update this gallery then.

Hi my name is Kewin and I'm a 23 years old from Sweden. I have a few hobbies like drawing and playing guitar but I do also like myself some project here and there which is where my interest in typewriters fits in. I have always collected things through my life but I did not expect typewriters to be my next big passion in collecting. I started collecting typewriters in the beginning of 2022 and so far I have 52 of them (3 of which is currently disassembled) . I find it really enjoyable to pickup a typewriter at a thrift store/second hand and starting to clean it up and get it to a working condition to the best of my ability and knowledge. (Excuse all the dog hairs in my pictures, I do actually try to remove the hair before taking the pictures. xD) Cheers!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Facit 1845 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Facit Serial Number page and the Facit 1845 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
