Description:
Olympia Traveler. This is a later run model and it is still built well. No surprise, it's an Olympia! The typing feel is great. It's not sf or splendid 66 great, but it is a solid machine.
My only complaint with these machines are the carriage shift. You definitely get used to it after a while and it isn't too heavy, but by this time in the 70s, most companies were using some type of basket shift.

I'm a software engineer in the Chicagoland area. I've been collecting "vintage" vinyl, computers, mechanical keyboards and typewriters since I was a kid. Born into an analog world, but grew up in a digital one.
My wife is a writer and I enjoy problem solving and puzzles, so naturally fixing I fell in love with fixing and maintaining typewriters and she then gets to enjoy all of these machines!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Traveller on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Traveller By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
