This one saw light duty as part of a journalist's large selection of machines. so my assessment is not of some beater. I left the Pica label on the carriage as an ode to a working man's machine. He needed labels to keep track of his desired cpi!

Ads for the "SG-3N" start in 1971. So I think, this is an N model. Are all models after this date N models? Or was there two different ones available?
From looking at galleries, it would appear the big change was around 1976 when they went to a stamped steel frame. The cast frames are color coded and feature yellow levers that pivot for carriage removal. The stamped frames, like this one, have release levers that slide back and down to catch in a notch for the released position.

Next up a 1966 model for comparison. However, it is rough, so maybe not the best candidate?
