Description:
I like the style of this typewriter. It took a lot of work to get this machine in a good shape. The paperholder is still missing, but this is not a big deal. The typing is nice, but the line space lever is made of cheap plastic.

My Name is Markus Cremer and I'm a german author of Steampunk, Fantasy and other stuff. From Steampunk to Typewriters is only a small step. Together with my young son I'm building Steampunk robots and other crude installations - and I'm pretty sure that the neighbors on these things looks with a mixture of unbelieve and rolling eyes . My son wished (and gets) his own typewriter Erika 42 from Santa Claus in the age of four years. Books, Now he typed small storys on his Erika. Typewriters and Writing are always present in my house, which is located nearby the old city of Aachen (Cologne is 50 miles in the east - the border to the netherlands only 9 miles in the west). The house is as old as my Torpedo 6 Typewriter and both in a pretty decent shape. My collection of Typewriters is small but slowly growing. The main concern for me is the usability of the machines so I write on them - not the whole novels (my novel "Archibald Leach und die Monstrositaeten des Marquis de Mortemarte" ends after 145.000 Words), but i love to use the Typewriters for short fiction, character sketches or plots.
The video series from Joe Van Cleave led me find this site. So... I hope I can participate and contribute my small amount to this incredible database.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 315 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 315 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
