Description:
11 CPI Adler Contessa. Purchased to upgrade to a QWERTY of the same type. Loose and fast typer with segment shift. Good key spacing and action. The 1975 German version was Triumph branded. Like all Contessas, the mounting posts on the baseplate are too fragile for the weight of the mechanism and break off even after gluing but does not seem to matter much as there are other mounts. Good daily typer.

Greetings! Typewriters have come and gone during my life but now I am focused on having the machine that fits the best. I sent off my Corona Standard in favor of a Olivetti Lettera 35 and a Triumph Contessa. I am a project manager by trade and activist by choice, I recently typed a letter to the Mayor to have a greater impact than email. Space requires I limit my collection to 2 machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler Contessa De Luxe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler Contessa De Luxe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
