1976 Addo 621 Serial # 6153736 1976 Addo 621 typewriter, Serial # 6153736 Kewin Sanfridsson's 1976 Addo 621 typewriter. 2024-02-09 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kewin Sanfridsson: 1976 Addo 621 Serial # 6153736 It's a Facit, It's a Ericsson, No it's a Addo.
Here we got a Facit 1620 (from either 1975 or 76 which you can see on the carriage knobs which are different from earlier 1620 (for better comfort?)) rebranded to Addo (621) basically. If I'm not mistaken Addo was bought up by Facit and then used as a daughter business. Not sure if Facit changed anything else other than the knobs on the revisioned 1620 but I find the keyboard on this machine to be a bit snappier? Less like writing on a piece of sponge or moss (like other 1620/Privat) and more like a typewriter. xD To be honest I did not think I would find this one when I opened the leather case for it, just thought it would be another Privat.

It's in very good condition except for a few paint chips. It could maybe use a bit polish on the chrome parts if I where to nitpick. Overall a great typewriter I do indeed recommend picking up one if you get the chance or maybe alternatively the revisioned 1620.

Hi my name is Kewin and I'm a 24 years old from Sweden. I have a few hobbies like drawing and playing guitar but I do also like myself some project here and there which is where my interest in typewriters fits in. I have always collected things through my life but I did not expect typewriters to be my next big passion in collecting. I started collecting typewriters in the beginning of 2022 and so far I have 80* of them (3 of which is currently disassembled) . I find it really enjoyable to pickup a typewriter at a thrift store/second hand and starting to clean it up and get it to a working condition to the best of my ability and knowledge. (Excuse all the dog hairs in my pictures, I do actually try to remove the hair before taking the pictures. xD) Cheers!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Addo 621 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Addo Serial Number page and the Addo 621 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
