Description:
Picked this one up in 2023 at an antiques fair in Alameda, California fully functional aside from a couple sticky keys and needing a new ribbon. I replaced the ribbon with a black/orange one. My go-to portable when I'm at my vacation home, brought it to a type-in in Philadelphia put on by Philly Typewriter in November 2023.

I am a computer systems engineer and author living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I began collecting typewriters in 2021 when I bought a 1938 L C Smith & Corona Super Speed at a garage sale and then took it to a local shop to be refurbished. I have a knack for the mechanical, so I transitioned to doing some repairs on my own.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Traveller de Luxe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Traveller de Luxe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
